Jyotisha Shastra (Astrology) is the eye of the Vedas. Surya Graha (Sun Planet - The Soul of Kalapurusha) Surya Devata is the first planet of the Navagrahas. Another name for Surya Devata is Savita. The meaning of Savita is 'creator'. Born in Kalinga country, Surya Deva is the lord of the Devasthan (place of gods) as well as the lord of the Kshatriya caste, old in age, and the master of the fire element (Agnitattva). Prithvi Devi became pregnant and gave birth to a son named Mangal. Mangal is of Bharadwaja gotra, Kshatriya caste, born in Avanti country, and is the commander-in-chief in the Kalapurusha's kingdom. The Devata is Bagalamukhi, Adhidevata is Skanda, Pratyadhidevata is Kshiti or Prithvi (Earth).
